The Aeon was a Federation Timeship Model NO-86 commissioned during the 29th century that was commanded by Captain Braxton.

When debris from a temporal explosion that devastated Earth's solar system revealed that USS Voyager was involved, Braxton took the Aeon to 2373 to destroy Voyager before the disaster could occur.

Voyager was able to defend itself, damaging the Aeon, and forcing it to crash-land in the High Sierras on Earth, in the year 1967. The crash was observed by a Human named Henry Starling, who cannibalized the Aeon and used its futuristic technology to advance the computer age of the 20th century by several years.

In this timeline, the temporal explosion caused by Starling's attempt to travel forward into the future, started the causality loop. This loop was finally eliminated by the actions of the Voyager crew who destroyed the Aeon with a manually fired photon torpedo just as it entered the rift, and the Aeon (now restored to its correct place in time) was able to return the ship to the Delta Quadrant. (VOY: "Future's End", "Future's End, Part II")

[edit] Background

Some internet websites, including Startrek.com, have added "UTS" (United Time Ship) to the name, making it "UTS Aeon". However, there is no canon evidence that this was ever a part of the ship's name.
