Amber spice is a Talaxian delicacy. In 2376, Neelix procured a quantity of amber spice from a Kartelan freighter. Unknown to him, the spice contained the larvae of photonic fleas, which some weeks later nested in a USS Voyager plasma conduit.(VOY: "The Voyager Conspiracy")
