Andorian ranks

The rank system of the Andorian Imperial Guard resembled that of Earth's military and naval ranks.

General was a flag officer rank. A General was able to honorarily appoint officers into the Imperial Guard. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II")

Captain was one of the top line officer ranks. Captains often commanded fleets of starships. (ENT: "Cease Fire")

Commander was a line officer rank. A commander would command a starship or lead a commando team. (ENT: "The Andorian Incident", "Proving Ground")

Lieutenant was a line officer rank. Lieutenants served under commanders, and would often serve as bridge officers aboard starships. (ENT: "Proving Ground")
