The Bolarus system is a star system in the Bolian sector of Federation space, and home to the Bolians. (TNG: "Allegiance")

In the mid-2370s, the Bolarus system was near the battlefront in the Dominion War, and was protected by the Sixth Fleet. (DS9: "Penumbra")

In an early draft of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Reckoning", it was Bolarus and the Bolian system that had been captured by the Dominion and liberated by the Romulan Star Empire.
According to scenic artist Geoffrey Mandel's Star Trek: Star Charts, the Bolarus system was in the Beta Quadrant, near the border of the Romulan Neutral Zone, parallel to the Devron system.
