The shuttlepod Campbell was a type 15 shuttlepod aboard the USS Enterprise-D.
In 2368, Commander William Riker, Lieutenant Commander Data, and Counselor Deanna Troi took the Campbell to the surface of a satellite of Mab-Bu VI to investigate the possible existence of survivors from the USS Essex. The shuttle was damaged by storms in the atmosphere of the planet, and crash landed on the surface. (TNG: "Power Play")
[edit] Background
According to the Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, the shuttle was named after science fiction author John W. Campbell (though the book incorrectly states "named for pioneering science fiction author Joseph W. Campbell).
