David Stipes

David Stipes is a visual effects expert who worked on all of the Star Trek spinoffs.
Stipes was the visual effects supervisor on Star Trek: The Next Generation's last two seasons. He later worked on the first two seasons of Star Trek: Voyager before moving on to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where he was the visual effects supervisor for its fifth, sixth and seventh seasons. He then moved on to Star Trek: Enterprise.
Stipes shared Emmy Awards for his work on TNG's series finale, "All Good Things..." and the pilot episode of Voyager, "Caretaker". He later received Emmy nominations for the series finale of DS9, "What You Leave Behind", and the Enterprise episode "Breaking the Ice".
Stipes was featured in the special "Red Alert: Visual Effects - Season One" on the Voyager Season 1 DVD, where an interview from 1994 was brought in.
Prior to his Star Trek work Stipes worked on science fiction television shows such as Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and Galactica 1980.
His motion picture credits include Equinox, Caveman, Creepshow, The Stuff, Real Genius, Night of the Creeps, Deadly Weapon, Arena, Ernest Goes to Jail and The Lawnmower Man.
