Dem Bones is an Earth song whose lyrics describe the basic anatomy of Human bones.
In 2376, The Doctor, whose ethical subroutine had been removed by Captain Rudolph Ransom of the USS Equinox, sang a variation of the song describing Seven of Nine's anatomy, while he worked to extract her cortical array in effort to obtain the engineering command codes she had encrypted on board the Equinox. (VOY: "Equinox, Part II")
In The Doctor's version of the song, he sang:
- "The ocular node's connected to the sensory node.
- The sensory node's connected to the cortical node.
- The cortical node's connected to the reticular node.
- The reticular node's connected to the occipital node."
