Derek Chester is a comic book and video game author and writer. He has written several video games in the Star Trek line for both Activision and Bethesda Softworks, all with D.C. Fontana. Their collaboration has been so productive that they are now writing a comic mini-series for IDW Publishing based on the Original Series episode "The Enterprise Incident". Their script for the mini-series, the first comics written by either of them, was so tied into Star Trek canon that it was returned with approval from CBS Paramount Television without any changes being required.
Chester has worked on the Warner Brothers television show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, starring Teri Hatcher and K Callan. He also pitched several stories for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, four of which were purchased, but none of which made it to air.
