Diagnostic team

A diagnostic team is a specialized group of Starfleet engineers, usually aboard a starship. A diagnostic team is called whenever a technical matter has to be looked into very thoroughly.

In 2368, Geordi La Forge called a diagnostic team, led by Lieutenant Shipley to cargo bay 4 to investigate strange occurences, caused by tampering of solanagen-based lifeforms in the bay. (TNG: "Schisms")
