Direct reticular stimulation is a procedure which uses a neural stimulator to directly apply energy to the nervous system in an attempt to revive and stimulate neural activity.
In 2364, the procedure was used to try to revive Lieutenant Natasha Yar after she was attacked by Armus, but the procedure was not successful. (TNG: "Skin of Evil")
