Don Lanning (born 2 April 1965; age 43) is a special effects creature designer and sculptor for Hollywood films. He recently worked with the Proteus Make-up FX Team as key sculptor on 2008's Star Trek.

Lanning has worked frequently with the make-up effects studios KNB EFX Group, Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI), and Patrick Tatopolos Designs. His projects for KNB include Vampires, the X-Files movie, Rat Race (starring Whoopi Goldberg and Lanei Chapman), Planet of the Apes (featuring Erick Avari, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and David Warner), Hearts in Atlantis (starring Anton Yelchin), and Vanilla Sky.

For ADI, Lanning lent his skills to films such as The Santa Clause 2 (featuring Michael Dorn), Looney Tunes: Back in Action (featuring Marc Lawrence, Dick Miller, George Murdock, Ron Perlman, and Robert Picardo), and AVP: Alien vs. Predator. The Tatopolos studio employed Lanning's talents for the 2003 film Underworld and its 2006 sequel, Underworld: Evolution, as well as the horror films They and Silent Hill.

Lanning has also worked as a sculptor with Spectral Motion on the films Hellboy (starring the aforementioned Ron Perlman of Star Trek Nemesis), Blade: Trinity, and Fantastic Four. His other projects include Mr. Deeds (starring Winona Ryder), Superman Returns (directed by Bryan Singer), and Team America: World Police.
