The Duras sisters' Bird-of-Prey was a D-12 class Klingon Bird-of-Prey operated by the House of Duras. It was destroyed in 2371 just after inflicting critical damage to the USS Enterprise-D. (Star Trek Generations)
[edit] Service Record
This Bird-of-Prey was used by the Duras sisters in from 2369 until 2371 in several missions.
In 2369, Lursa and B'Etor used the starship to provide Tahna Los with bilitrium. (DS9: "Past Prologue")
In 2370, Lursa and B'Etor used the Bird-of-Prey during their plot to steal magnesite in the Kalla system. (TNG: "Firstborn")
While in orbit of Veridian III, Lursa and B'Etor staged a bold attack on the Enterprise-D in 2371. The Duras sisters had a considerable tactical advantage in knowing the Enterprise's shield frequency, meaning that the Bird-of-Prey was able to render the Enterprise shields completely ineffective, allowing the Bird-of-Prey to score direct hits. The Bird-of-Prey was destroyed when the crew of the Enterprise exploited a design flaw in the D-12 class' plasma coils to force it to cloak and lower its shields in the process. Unfortunately this would prove to be a pyrrhic victory as the Bird-of-Prey was able to inflict critical damage to the Enterprise-D before being destroyed, resulting in a warp core breach and the eventual loss of the Enterprise. (Star Trek Generations)
[edit] Appearances
[edit] Background
It is unknown if the ship seen in the episodes and the movie was the same Bird-of-Prey. However, without direct evidence, this article assumes that it was the same starship. The Bird-of-Prey seen in Star Trek Generations was 20 years old and the ship's plasma coils are part of the ship's cloaking device.
The Star Trek Customizable Card Game gives its name as Cha'Joh.
