Escape maneuver one was a defensive maneuver employed by the Romulan Star Empire during the 23rd century.
The only known usage was when the Romulan Commander of the Praetor's flagship, a Bird-of-Prey that had crossed Romulan Neutral Zone, ordered it as a mean to escape the Federation starship USS Enterprise. The ship did not have time to utilize the maneuver, as it was destroyed by the Enterprise shortly after the order was given. (TOS: "Balance of Terror")
- Because the vessel was destroyed before the maneuver could be used, it is unknown what exactly the maneuver was.
