Gary Werntz is the actor who played the Tilonian Mavek in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Frame of Mind"
He has made guest appearances on the television series L.A. Law (including the pilot episode, with Corbin Bernsen), China Beach (with Robert Picardo, Concetta Tomei, and Jeff Kober), and the cult science fiction series Firefly (with Ron Glass). He also had roles in the films The Peacemaker (1997, with Matt Winston, Richard Poe, and Bruce Gray), Deep Impact (1998, with James Cromwell, Denise Crosby, Concetta Tomei, and Kurtwood Smith), and Pay It Forward (2000, with Jeannetta Arnette, Tina Lifford, and Tim De Zarn), all of which were directed by his wife, Mimi Leder.
