Gilbert Ralston

Gilbert Alexander Ralston (5 January 1912 – 18 March 1999; age 87) was a journalist, author, and television writer. He wrote the episode "Who Mourns for Adonais?" for the original Star Trek series.
After writing several anatomy books, he wrote one fiction novel in 1969, titled Ratman's Notebooks (under the name Stephen Gilbert), before moving to television writing. Ratman's Notebooks bacame a film in 1971 titled Willard, which was remade in 2003.
Gilbert Ralston was born in New Castle, County Down, Ireland. He died in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, USA from congestive heart failure in 1999.
