The Guernica system is a star system that was located in Federation space. A Federation outpost was located here during the 24th century.
In 2367, the USS Enterprise-D brought scientific equipment from Starbase 313 to this outpost. (TNG: "Galaxy's Child")
Background
The Guernica system was named for the Spanish city of Guernica, where the German Legión Cóndor created a massacre during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. Pablo Picasso made a painting entitled Guernica dramatizing the horror of the bombing.
