The Los Angeles Police Department (or LAPD) was a law enforcement agency in Los Angeles, California in the United States during the late 20th century.
Captain Braxton often had run-ins with the LAPD in 1996 for posting signs around the beachfront, stating that it's the "Future's end." A few people complained about his actions to the police. During one such run-in, as one of the officers, Sims, approached Braxton, Braxton warned him to stay away and referred to him as "quasi-Cardassian totalitarian." (VOY: "Future's End")
