La bohème

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Jump to: navigation, search

La bohème is an Italian opera by Giacomo Puccini created during Earth's late 19th century.

Data sang the first three lines of Che Gelida Manina, an aria from La bohème for Jenna D'Sora. (TNG: "In Theory")

The Vulcans T'Penna and Soral once preformed La Bohème, with T'Penna playing Mimì and Soral playing Rodolfo.

The Doctor once tried singing the duet O, Soave Fanciulla from this opera with a holographic recreation of Giuseppina Pentangeli, a famed 22nd century opera diva.

But the hologram of Pentangeli also duplicated her vanity and demanding temperament which made her near impossible to work with. The Doctor considered singing with Maria Callas next time instead. (VOY: "The Swarm")
