Leaf miners are tiny insects native to Earth, which can grow in and feed on grapevines.
In an unknown, alternate future timeframe, some of Jean-Luc Picard's grapevines were infested by leaf miners. Geordi La Forge suggested using a bacillus spray to eliminate them. (TNG: "All Good Things...")
