Newspaper appearing on tricorder
Lee's Summit, a suburb of Kansas City, was a city located in the US state of Missouri, on Earth's North American continent.
In 1930, a news report about a policeman from near Lee's Summit was printed in a New York newspaper, who told the paper that a common excuse for car drivers not having license tags was "I'm going to be drafted next month and don't want to spend $15 or $20". The report was on the same page as a murder, and the death of a 'local social worker' Edith Keeler.
This was one of the images Spock's tricorder recorded before he and Captain Kirk transported back in time. (TOS: "The City on the Edge of Forever")
