Lela Dax
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
Lela Dax was the first host of the Dax symbiont. Lela was a famous legislator in the Trill government, and one of the first women to be appointed as a council member. Her initiate supervisor was Jobel. (DS9: "Playing God", "Facets")
Lela had a son named Ahjess, who would frequently climb into his mother's bed after being tucked in for the night to get attention. (DS9: "To the Death")
During Jadzia Dax's zhian'tara in 2371, Kira Nerys embodied Lela's memories and personality. Jadzia noted that she picked up her method of holding her hands behind her back while talking from her.
- Lela Dax was played by Nana Visitor during Jadzia Dax's zhian'tara in the episode "Facets".
- It is not known exactly when Lela lived; she could have been joined as early as 2018, when the symbiont was born.
