Please make sure you have read and understood Memory Alpha's deletion policy before editing this page. But in case you don't remember, here's a digest version:
- Images listed here will be removed after 7 days, unless voted otherwise. Make sure you add the deletion boilerplate message to articles listed for deletion here. We recommend using {{deletionimage}}. Add new entries at the bottom of the list and, as always, sign entries with name and timestamp – use four tildes (~~~~). Please remember to boldface (by surrounding bold text with '''three apostrophes''') so that your vote (keep, delete, neutral, replace or move) can be counted. Also note that uploaded images and files that are not directly related to an article, or are solely created for personal use are subject to immediate deletion.

For the most part, Ottens uploaded numerous images about 3 or 4 years ago that were never properly cited. A number of these appear to be taken from Probert's website, where there is no indication that there was "explicit permission of the owner" to use these. --Alan del Beccio 19:35, 14 February 2008 (EST)
- It might be worth contacting Andrew Probert and inquiring whether we can use a limited number of his images, perhaps with the understanding that we link back to his site on the image pages or something as such. Thoughts? -- Sulfur 00:48, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think Contacting him is the best course of action, though aren't images three and four already permissable for our use here. I remember seeing them somewhere with the "used with permission" notice. --Nmajmani 02:43, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

- The was a huge fuzz about that - all of these images were uploaded, and when some of them were put up for deletion as copyvios (by me, I think), Ottens made the claim that he had contacted Probert and got permission to use the images. I'm not sure if something like a mail "log" was ever provided, and I'm not sure if Probert knew what exactly he was agreeing to (if anything), but I do know that I asked Ottens to at least add proper disclaimers to the various uploads - which in some cases never happened. If such mail log can be found here, it should be copied to all of the individual image discussion pages - otherwise, we should ask again, but this time in a more "formal" way. :) -- Cid Highwind 23:45, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

This link is currently only accessible to admins, as it is a deleted edit of the page in question. I'm not sure why that has been deleted, so eventually this and all other deleted edits of that page could be restored.-- Cid Highwind 00:02, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

- This is what, 5 months later? If we can't settle this i say Delete All. They're all background stuff, and really most of them look to be similar things we don't need. - Doesn't say anything that Image:USS Rhode Island intercepts SC-4.jpg doesn't.

- Nothing about this image strikes me as *remotely* necessary.
- Image:Defiant Bridge3.jpg
- CopyVio from the video game "Captain's Chair", it doesn't even portray much that we couldn't get from a screencap I'm sure. (I realize this isn't from Endgame.)
After seeing Category:Memory Alpha images by episode (VOY: Endgame) had 90 images, I got the impression some could use some weeding out. I understand a Featured Episode article ("Endgame") should have some good pictures, but even for a two hour episode, I think some reaction shots can be nixed. - Image:Data encrypts the computer.jpg, can be replaced with Image:Fractal encryption code.jpg. Just because I personally think we need to cut down on the "reaction shots", especially this one.
- Image:The line must be drawn here!.jpg or Image:Picard as Ahab.jpg, their practically the same thing. Ones in the summary, one is in the background section of Star Trek: First Contact.
Oh, and Image:Seven Talks With Doctor, Endgame.jpg. Because its blurry, we always see them talking, and the summary telling us their talking and what their saying illustrates this without having to show us them talking. - AJ Halliwell 22:57, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Really? Do we need an image to tell us what one Starfleet officer jumping out of the way looks like? And looking at the episode summary for DS9: "The Abandoned" it's not even particularly necessary to fill out the writing. - AJ Halliwell 04:24, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
