Maglock

In Starfleet engineering, a maglock (short for magnetic lock) is an electromagnetic locking mechanism used to connect structural components together.

An example of the use of maglocks is the deflector array installation of the Sovereign class. The dish can be disconnected from the hull by unlocking a set of three maglocks (Star Trek: First Contact).
