Nokaro

The Nokaro was a colony ship carrying nearly 3,000 people, mostly families. In 2336, the ship was consumed by a giant bioplasmic organism, which fooled the crew into believing that they were headed for an inhabitable planet. Qatai's family was amongst those lost, leading him to dedicate his life to destroying the creature. (VOY: "Bliss")
