Tuvok once grafted a South American orchid to a Vulcan favinit plant, creating a hybrid that was stronger than either species had been alone. (VOY: "Alliances")
In 2372, USS Voyager personnel discovered several dozen types of orchids on a planet in the Delta Quadrant. At least one of the species had symbiogenetic properties, causing a transporter accident that merged Neelix and Tuvok into a single being, known as Tuvix. (VOY: "Tuvix")
Lon Suder, while confined to his quarters, successfully created a new breed of orchid. He named it the Tuvok orchid after his mentor. (VOY: "Basics, Part I")
