Planet Q is a planet that was the site of a Federation colony in the 23rd century. It was the home of Thomas Leighton, the researcher who chanced upon the assumed identity of wanted mass-murderer Kodos the Executioner. In 2266, Leighton diverted the USS Enterprise to Planet Q so that he could present his suspicions to Captain James T. Kirk. (TOS: "The Conscience of the King")
