Post-neural shock syndrome
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference
Post-neural shock syndrome is a medical condition in which the patient experiences the sensation of more pronounced external stimuli. Colors seem more pronounced, shapes more defined. The condition is associated with unusual synaptic potentials.
In 2373, Benjamin Sisko suffered temporary post-neural shock syndrome following an accident in which he was exposed to a plasma burst. (DS9: "Rapture")
