Pound cake is a dessert originating on Earth, whose recipe is made with one pound of each ingredient: flour, butter, egg and sugar.
In 2374, Captain Kathryn Janeway speculated jokingly that a Starfleet transmission received through the Hirogen communications network could contain Admiral Chapman's recipe for perfect pound cake. (VOY: "Hope and Fear")
