Protein concentrate is a type of emergency ration given to people who have been deprived of food for a long period.

Sometime before 2141, Malcolm Reed went a week without eating, subsisting on nothing but water and a little apple juice. Afterwards, he could only have protein concentrate for two days. (ENT: "Silent Enemy")
