Soral was a Vulcan operatic tenor. Among his works, he performed the part of Rodolfo in "La bohème", a Human opera, with soprano T'Penna as Mimi.

The Doctor studied recordings of his and T'Penna's "La bohème" while trying to improve his own performance in 2373. (VOY: "The Swarm")

Prior to her birth, Samantha Wildman considered naming Naomi Soral, had she been a boy. The Doctor then informed her that Soral was also the name of an infamous dictator on Sakura Prime, known for beheading his subjects and his parents. (VOY: "Dreadnought")
