Stinger is a giant mosquito in The Adventures of Flotter children's holonovel series.

When Kathryn Janeway was six years old, she played a Flotter story where Flotter claimed there was an upcoming drought. She suggested diverting the river, which flooded the Forest of Forever and caused Stinger to hatch. (VOY: "Once Upon a Time")
