The Supermarine Spitfire was an airplane used by the United Kingdom during World War II.
In the Battle of Britain holoprogram used by Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir, the two's RAF squadron used Spitfires to fight the Luftwaffe. In 2372, Bashir told Odo a Spitfire was waiting for him after his return from Earth to take up Clive's position. (DS9: "Homefront")
Later that year, Bashir jokingly remarked that Morn maybe was better in a spitfire cockpit than he was with darts. (DS9: "Accession")
