Symbiosis
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
Symbiosis is a dependent relationship between dissimilar organisms. Types of symbiosis include parasitism, mutualism, and commensalism. Although some would argue that "symbiosis" only refers to mutualism.

[edit] Parasitism
The relationship is harmful to one, but beneficial to the other. Unlike normal predatory behavior, it is usually in the parasite's best interest to keep its prey alive. The parasite also lives very close to, or attached to the victim.
