The TV dinner was a prepackaged meal which could be easily purchased frozen in a supermarket and heated at home that was introduced in the 1950s. It was intended to be eaten in front of the television.

Trip Tucker had difficulty believing T'Pol's second foremother, T'Mir, and her stranded Vulcan crewmates had crashed on Earth, hustled a game of pool, and lived on TV dinners in 1957. (ENT: "Carbon Creek")
