A tactile response sensor is a sensory feedback system built into the Emergency Medical Hologram to facilitate interaction with physical objects.
In 1996, Henry Starling reconfigured the Doctor's tactile response sensors to enable him to feel pain, in order to compel his cooperation. (VOY: "Future's End, Part II")
