I'm not sure, but perhaps this article deserves to be disambiguated with the slingshot effect, which is used to travel throuh time.

I agree about diambig. I added a dismbig note to the top. There is no wikipedia article called Gravimetric slingshot, so I removed that. Sign your talk page comments please. About completeness, there is a description and one solid reference, that's all there needs to be. Someone can expand it later if they find more references. --Bp 15:19, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

This name was never referenced in the episode. It was referred to twice, possibly three times, by name as the slingshot effect. --Alan del Beccio 03:46, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Of course, you are right. However, the actual maneuvre performed was identical with the real-world use of the term, rather than the Trek one. And gravimetric gravitational slingshot happens to be a synonym for said maneuvre. So I created this mainly for disambig purposes.

Oops, Bp. I used the wrong word. No wonder you couldn't find the wikipedia article! It's gravitational not gravimetric. I get those two words mixed up. Too bad it took me a year to figure out my mistake.
