A comment was recently added to the article:

The reference here to Joseph McCarthy is incorrect. McCarthy had nothing to do with any House committee. McCarthy was a Senator. He did not serve in the House and had nothing to do with HUAC or blacklisting of Hollywood actors. McCarthy was concerned only with Communists in government, not Hollywood.
