While I agree that the interpretation of just what violence is unnecessary is a matter of opinion, it is just this matter of interpretation that creates the differences between varieties of pacifism. So I think that it is still appropriate to say that pacifists reject unnecessary violence, though they differ on what they consider unnecessary. Thoughts?
