Talk:Ramirez (Captain)

There's also another Captain Ramirez mentioned in "The Darkness and the Light". Could it be the same one mentioned in "Valiant"? -- Tough Little Ship 14:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Hmm, I just looked into this. It seems like a toss up. I guess it all boils down to whether we want to assume it is the same person, since nothing contradicts it; or whether we want to assume it is not, because, as this disambiguation page indicates, the name is fairly commonplace. Unlike the case of Toran (2370 Gul) and Toran (2371 Gul), we saw the former one die, confirming that there was two. In the case of the two Captain Ramirezes, there is enough time between the first encounter with Ramirez (in "The Darkness and the Light" -- SD 50416.2) and the time of the launch of the Valiant on it's mission, which Ramirez commanded (in "Valiant", 8 months prior to 51825.4), to indicate that there was not a Ramirez in two places at one time, if indeed they are the same individual. So, perhaps, in the interest of keeping things neat and tidy, we just lump them together, and just note at the bottom of the page that they may be the same individuals, or they may not. However, since there is no contradiction to indicate otherwise, this article assumes they are the same person. Seems to me we have a few other articles sharing this clause. --Alan del Beccio 23:14, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
