In the Star Trek universe, the Nash was possibly named after John F. Nash, Jr., a 20th century American mathematician.

As well as the wikipedia link. This is speculation, since it was stated in bg sources that it was named after a modeler. --Alan del Beccio 14:36, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
