Talk:Y2K bug

From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference

Jump to: navigation, search

[edit] PfD "Y2K"

Deletion rationale

If I recall, it was previously deleted. Plus, no canon Trek information. Sure, Janeway's ancestor should've experienced the hysteria, it was not mentioned in the episode. - Enzo Aquarius 21:29, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Discussion

This discribes in detail the Y2K glitch experienced by Janeway's ancestors. 65.163.112.138 21:41, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

What the anon is trying to say is that it actually was mentioned in canon. From VOY "11:59":
  • SHANNON: "Last year, when 2000 arrived? Everyone was convinced it was the dawn of a new era. But when the world didn't end and the flying saucers didn't land and the Y2K bug didn't turn off a single light bulb, you'd think everybody would have realized it was a number on a calendar. But, oh, no, they had to listen to all those hucksters who told them the real millennium was 2001. So this New Year's Eve will be as boring as last year."
To the anon: When we have been asking for a canon reference, simply repeating the same thing over and over will not help. You need to actually tell us where it came from.
To everybody. We need to keep and move this article. "Y2K" simply refers to the year, and the article is about the bug. Therefore, this needs to be located at "Y2K bug". --OuroborosCobra talk 21:52, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. Keep and move to Y2K Bug. - Enzo Aquarius 02:34, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
