According to the original Star Trek pitch, Gene Roddenberry wanted the timeline of Star Trek to be vague, placing it possibly within the thousand years between 1995 and 2995.

- VOY: "Q2" states that Kirk's five-year mission ended in 2270, strongly implying that the events of TOS and TAS take place between 2265 and 2270.

- TOS: "The Deadly Years" takes place between March 22, 2267 and March 21, 2268 given James T. Kirk's age of 34 provided in the episode. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly" provides his birthdate on a historical screen)

- VOY: "Endgame" places the events of VOY: "Unimatrix Zero" in the year 2378, according to a Starfleet cadet.

- VOY: "Homestead" takes place around the 315th anniversary of Zefram Cochrane's warp flight (given as April 5th, 2063 in Star Trek: First Contact by Data) according to Neelix. This heavily implies that the episode takes place around April 5th, 2378.
