USS Agamemnon

The USS Agamemnon was a Federation starship that was in service during the late 24th century.

In late 2369, the Agamemnon was part of Admiral Nechayev's task force assembled to defend Federation colonies from an anticipated second Borg invasion. (TNG: "Descent")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia this vessel was an Apollo-class starship, with the registry NCC-11638.

Agamemnon commanded the Greeks in the Trojan War in Homer's Illiad. Four British Royal Navy battleships bore the name HMS Agamemnon, the first of which was commissioned in 1781 and later commanded by Captain Horatio Nelson.
