Astrochicken (n) is the name given to a thought experiment expounded upon by theoretical physicist Freeman Dyson.

It is also the name of a lurking Star Trek fan who has not yet decided if Trekkie or Trekker can be used to describe him. In real life he has been known to pose as René Torenstra, who has a stripped-down website at http://home.wanadoo.nl/r.torenstra with some information, and who is sometimes spamming the Dutch Wiki: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebruiker:Ren%C3%A9_Torenstra.
