Verin

Verin was leader of the Uxali, a species whose planet had been contaminated by an Earth probe called Friendship 1. The probe caused radiation sickness and a nuclear winter. When the USS Voyager attempted to recover the probe, Verin took the away team hostage. He demanded that his people be relocated to another planet. When Janeway suggested an alternate plan, he killed Lt. Carey. As he prepared to fire a missile at Voyager he was deposed as leader by Otrin, who accepted Voyager's plan. (VOY: "Friendship One")
