The Yeager type was a preliminary designation for a type of Federation starships in use during the Dominion War.
The USS Yeager participated in Operation Return and was part of the defense force that protected Deep Space 9 throughout the duration of the war. (DS9: "Sacrifice of Angels")

This listing is based on the name of the only known vessel of its type, the Yeager itself. It was frequently seen in establishing shots of the station and its environs during DS9 Season 5, 6 and 7.
This studio model was a kitbash, created from the primary hull and nacelles of Revell-Monogram Intrepid-class USS Voyager model, attached to the rear hull of a Maquis raider model, although the parts differ from their original scale in relation to each other. The overall measurements of the design were 20" × 15".
The studio model was sold in the 40 Years of Star Trek: The Collection auction with an estimated sale price of $4,000 to $6,000; it ultimately sold for $8,500 ($10,200 with premium). [1]

The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual describes this vessel as an Intrepid-class starship variant, describing it as being among the ships "constructed from salvaged components, components in work, and custom assemblies fabricated by the individual fleet yards."
The following specifications were given in the DS9 Technical Manual:
- Production Base: ASDB Integration Facility, Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, Mars
- Type: Light Cruiser.
- Accommodation: 204 officers and crew
- Power Plant: One 1500 plus Cochrane warp core feeding two nacelles; one impulse system
- Dimensions: Length, 402.11 meters; beam, 195.64 meters; height, 58.69 meters.
- Mass: 550,000 metric tonnes.
- Performance: Warp 9.55 for 12 hours
- Armament: Seven type-8 phaser emitters; one photon torpedo launcher
